Psychology

Overview

Psychology aims to develop students’ understanding of human behaviour. The course focuses on the different approaches to explaining human behaviour, including biological, behavioural, cognitive and humanistic approaches. Students also study specific applied areas including memory, social influence, attachment, and relationships, as well as theories regarding psychological abnormality (phobias, depression, OCD, schizophrenia, criminal offending etc.). Students also consider the issues and debates that arise from research into these areas, as well as the specific research decisions that psychologists are faced with when designing their research.

Psychology is available as an option subject at A-Level.
