Young Carers

Bourne Grammar School is committed to meeting the needs of young carers and young adult carers so that they can attend and enjoy school in the same way as other pupils/students and achieve their potential.

It is believed that there are over 700,000 Young Carers who help care for their parents, grandparents or younger siblings.   A Young Carer is someone aged 18 or under who helps look after a relative who has a condition, such as a disability, illness, mental health condition, or a drug or alcohol problem.

The school has a designated student manager, Mrs Ford, who is happy to discuss the needs of young carers and their families.
