Welcome from the Head Students

As the 2024/25 Head Student Team, we would like to give you a warm welcome to Bourne Grammar School’s website.

From the start of our journey here at BGS, we have benefited from, and enjoyed taking part in, the great wealth of opportunities that students are given throughout their secondary school journey; from the very many exciting extracurricular activities to the everyday opportunities in and outside lessons to learn and achieve academic excellence. Our ethos as a School stands firm in creating well-rounded individuals who are equipped with honesty, resilience and kindness, and aspire to be ambitious, determined and inquisitive learners - this is only possible through the balance of both Academic and Personal Development education which BGS strives for.

In our time here as Head Students we aim to create the best atmosphere for all students, not only to learn to the best of their ability but also to be comfortable enough to express their unique ideas with the School community. We believe strongly that such confidence once learnt serves as a lifelong asset.

Our Head Student duties include managing Year 13 Senior Prefect Committees based on different aspects of School life, such as Equality and Diversity, Mental health, Environment, and Activities and Outreach, whilst also leading Student Council meetings each week with the form representatives of each year in order to ensure the voice of our students is given utmost importance.

Striving to emulate the wonderful pastoral care of the School, we, as a team, will value above all else, the importance of providing each student with the resources and support they need to make the most of their time at School so that they can thrive academically, emotionally and socially and be ready to face any challenges and make the most of the opportunities that BGS has to offer.
