Safeguarding

Bourne Grammar School takes seriously its responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of students and believes that the safety and wellbeing of children is of paramount importance.

Everyone who works with and comes into contact with children at Bourne Grammar School has a responsibility to keep them safe. All staff members receive safeguarding and child protection training which is regularly updated and the School follows robust safer recruitment procedures.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:

  2. preventing the impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development;
  3. ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care, and
  4. taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
