Careers Fair

On Wednesday evening, our school hosted the most memorable Careers Fair to date.

Such was the scale of the occasion that it could not be contained in just one venue: the Main Hall, the Sports Hall, Drama Studio and several other spaces across the school were filled with over 60 universities, businesses and organisations, all creating a showcase of possibilities for our students. From global companies to local employers, from leading universities to our own staff sharing their expertise, the breadth and variety on display made the evening one to remember. The event reflected a central part of our school vision - inspiring and empowering our community - with parents, students, exhibitors and our own staff all contributing with real enthusiasm, each playing their part in helping to open doors and create opportunities for our students. Many visitors remarked on the thoughtful and insightful questions being asked, something they felt really made the evening special. Indeed, more than a few parents admitted they left wondering if it might be time for a career change themselves!

One of the most inspiring aspects was the presence of our alumni: several former students returned to the Fair representing the very companies they had first encountered at this event years ago. Seeing them back in school was a reminder of the lasting connections between BGS and its alumni, and of the exciting futures that can grow from evenings like this.

We are especially grateful to the Len Pick Trust for sponsoring the event. This wonderful local charity has long championed young people in Bourne, and it is clear that their generosity continues to make a real and lasting difference to our students.
