U13 and U15 Hockey Match vs Welland Park Academy

Both teams set off for Market Harborough to play in the National Schools event.

The U13’s were being led by James Risebrow, our resident expert umpire and coach and he set the team up to start in a very attacking style which led to them scoring freely and dominating possession. The team was 3-0 up at half-time and we then moved the centre midfield player Sophie Alliston to the U15 pitch to allow the other players to practise in new positions. Romilly Sondh was outstanding with her amazing dribbling skills and Harriet Templeman was very strong across the midfield. Welland Park had a few run away attacks but Jess Richardson and Jasmine Wilkinson dealt with these confidently. Superb play by all in the team led to a 5-0 win.

The U15’s had to display some expert defence in the first half with Caiomhe Healey in goal  producing a number of superb saves to keep the team in the game. Georgia Summerfield was ferocious in her tackling  and frustrated Welland Park’s best attacker and even found energy to keep making excellent passes to Ella Staff on the wing. Nicole Mancheva worked superbly hard as a central midfielder endlessly running up and down to support the team in all places. Frannie Jones positioning was excellent and we attacked down the right throughout the game thus making strong opportunities for the team in the D with Jessie Desborough proving an excellent striker.

In the second half the team added to the squad and started to pass the ball more fluently across the pitch thus causing more problems for their opponents who never seemed to be able to compete the same as in the first half. The inal score was 3-0.
