Year 6 to Year 7 Transition

At Bourne Grammar School, we understand how important it is for Year 7 students to feel supported as they transition from primary school. Our experienced Year 7 team is dedicated to helping students feel happy, confident, and ready to succeed.

Mr S. Chamberlain, Head of Year 7, has been leading the year group for 16 years and is also an experienced PE teacher. His calm and steady approach helps students feel encouraged, whether they’re adjusting to secondary school life or taking part in sports.

Miss G. Pollard, Deputy Head of Year 7, has been in her role for 7 years and was a committed Year 7 tutor before that. As a Geography teacher, she is approachable, enthusiastic, and passionate about supporting students as they settle into school life.

Mrs M. Ford, our Student Manager, has been with the school for over 20 years. Her wealth of experience and her caring approach are invaluable in ensuring that students feel secure and supported during this important transition.

We believe that happiness is the foundation of success. When students feel settled and supported, they can focus on achieving excellence and pursuing their ambitions. Our goal is to provide a smooth and positive start to secondary school and to address any bumps in the road along the way.

With a combination of expertise and genuine care, our team is here to ensure your child thrives in Year 7.
