Welcome from the Head Students

As the 2026–27 Head Student Team, we are delighted to welcome you to Bourne Grammar School’s website and introduce ourselves as the current Head Student team.

At BGS, we are proud to be part of a community built upon shared values. We strive to be honest, resilient and kind; we aim to be safe, respectful and prepared; and as learners, we endeavour to be ambitious, determined and inquisitive. These principles are paramount to our everyday life at school and contribute to the supportive and positive environment that makes BGS such a special place.

As Head Students, we are committed to representing the student body and helping to strengthen our school community. We have all been inspired by the students who have held these positions before us, and we hope to continue their legacy by making a positive and lasting contribution during our time in the role.

Reflecting on our application to the role, we all focus on one theme: Commitment. Commitment for us is about being actively involved in school life. Whether supporting events such as Open Evenings, coordinating school events, or working alongside staff and students on new initiatives, we are always looking for ways to contribute. As a team, we believe that through leading by example and being approachable role models, we can create a positive and lasting impact within our school community.

Our responsibilities include overseeing Senior Prefect Committees that focus on key areas of school life, including Equality and Diversity, Mental Health, the Environment, Activities and Outreach, Marketing and Societies. A key aspect of our role is leading the fortnightly Student Council meetings, where we work closely with different year groups. These meetings enable us to gather feedback, discuss new initiatives and ensure that the views of students are heard to help shape the future of our school.

Above all, we are grateful for the opportunities that Bourne Grammar School continues to give us and are proud to give back to the community that has supported us throughout our journey. We look forward to working with students, staff and families over the coming year and helping both current and future students to thrive.
